The Wear Everywhere Skirt – free pattern

Everyone needs a wardrobe of good basic skirts. Ones you can wear every day or for lots of different occasions. This Wear Everywhere Skirt fits the bill perfectly. A classic straight skirt with a single inverted pleat center front, makes this skirt easy to wear, ideal for the office, working, shopping, the school run – in fact, anywhere and everywhere. Once you’ve got a great fit on this skirt, mark up your pattern because it’s a quick and easy sew you’ll want to make again and again.

We`ve talked before about sewing ‘real clothes for real women‘- sewing the sort of clothes you wear everyday, rather than too many fancy-smancy dresses and jackets that you rarely wear. You`ll get plenty of wear from this every-day skirt.

I`ve made mine in a plain fabric so you can see the pleat detail easily, but this would look equally good in a small print. Or even a stripe. How about splitting the pleat down the center to follow through on the center front seam, and using a stripe to create the chevron effect that`s all in fashion right now!
