He was born in Alexandria in the United States of America. His schooling was in Virginia and he went to attend the University in South Carolina. Some of his initial works included acting as sketch artist in the Upright Citizens Brigade and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Rob was also nominated for his work as a producer in Bravo series for the Emmy award. Huebel has worked in several comedy shows like Best Week Ever, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Office. He has a fan following as a stand up comedian. Huebel has appeared in live comedy shows like Kung-Fu Grip and Upright Citizens Brigade. His most recent appearances in films include, Despicable Me, The Descendants, The Other Guys, Little Fockers and Life as We Know It. He was also cast in the leading serial in 2011 in Family Album.

Huebel is frequently casted in the comedy Bang Bang. He still continues to perform regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.
