Download the templates at sewmag.co.uk, print and cut out. From five different right fabrics, with right sides together, cut the pattern body pieces, adding a 5mm seam allowance to each. Snip two leg pieces each from two different fabrics, with right sides together, making four pairs of pieces in total.
Using the lettering on the pattern, match up each body section to its neighbour and sew together, tacking first curves if necessary as the pieces are curved. Place the completed body shapes right sides together and stitch all the way around, leaving a gap in the lower edge of the middle body piece. Clip curves, turn out and press the body before firmly stuffing. Fold in the raw edges of the gap and slip stitch closed.
Match up the leg pieces so that they are each made from two different fabrics. Sew right sides together leaving a small gap in the top back of each leg. Clip angles and turn out with the aid of a knitting needle before stuffing. Fold in the raw edges of the gap and slip stitch.
Fix the legs to either side of the iguana’s body with button joints, using extra strong thread for security. Stitch layered buttons to either side of the head to make the eyes.
