Kokrak started playing golf at an early age. His father introduced golf to him at Trumbull Country Club. He was only 9 years old when he started playing golf. at high school where he led his high school to the Ohio state championship as Division III medalist. After graduating from high school, he attended Xavier University, where he continued to play golf. During his college career, he won both the 2006 and 2007 Ohio Amateur titles. He led all players with a score of 137 during the 36-hole match play qualifier during the 2007 U.S. Amateur at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.He also competed in the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in 2007. He came through sectional and regional qualifying. After graduating from Xavier, Kokrak turned professional in 2008.Kokrak recorded four victories on the eGolf Professional Tour. He was the leading money winner on the tour in 2010 after he won twice. He made it to the final round of qualifying School and earned conditional status on the Nationwide Tour. He won the Championship at St. James Plantation and the Donald Ross Championship in 2011. He finished second on the eGolf Tour’s money list despite playing in only three events. He won his first Nationwide Tour event, the Albertsons Boise Open in September 2011. He won by two strokes and earned $130,500. He won his second Nationwide Tour, the Miccosukee Championship in October 2011. He bagged $108,000 as the first prize. He finished the 2011 season with a T5th at the Nationwide Tour Championship with rounds of 67, 67, 75, and 75. He led the Nationwide Tour in 4th place earning $338,092 in 2011. His performance and results in 2011 earned him a place to compete on the PGA Tour in 2012. He made his PGA Tour debut in January 2012 at the Sony Open. He finished 75th. He recorded his first Top-10 finish on PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February 2012. He had finished 9th. He tied for second place at the 2012 Frys.com Open, one stroke behind Jonas Blixt. He finished the 2012 season 119th on the money list. He scored a hole-in-one on the 409 yards par-4 5th hole at the McGladrey Classic Pro-Am in November 2013. It was only the second time in PGA Tour history that a player had scored a hole-i-one on a par-4. He opened with rounds of 68-64 for a 10-under-par total to hold the 36-hole lead at the Northern Trust Open by one stroke. This was the first time in his PGA Tour career he had held a 36-hole lead. He tied for second place. He tied for second at the Valspar Championship in 2019. It was his third career runner-up finish on Tour. He notched three top-10 finishes during the four-event PGA Tour Florida Swing in 2019. He won his first PGA Tour event at the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek in October 2020.He won his second PGA Tour event, Charles Schwab Challenge in May 2021. With the win, he pursed $7,500,000 in the prize money.
