Originating from Nigeria, Folorunshu Alakija is an African businesswoman with an estimated net worth of $7.3 billion as of 2013. The business tycoon currently owns large investments in printing, fashion and oil industries. Today, Alakija is considered as the world’s richest black woman, as well as Africa’s fourth richest person.

She is associated with The Rose of Sharon Group which is comprised of Digital Reality Prints Limited and The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited. She currently serves as the group’s managing director. In addition to that, she is employed at Famfa Oil Limited as its executive Vice Chairman.

In March 2013, the Brazilian petroleum company Petrobras announced its intention of selling its assets which was reported to cost around $1.5-$2.5 billion. Alakija owns 60% of the company’s shares. In addition to Bombardier, she also owns an extensive collection of prime real estates in London and Nigeria.

Folorunsho Alakija was born in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria in 1951. Since 1976, she has been married to Modupe Alakija, with whom she has four children.
